Lion-like Dendrobium
Dendrobium leonis
Warm to intermediate epiphyte from lowland and hill forests of Southeast Asia, where it grows on trees and sometimes limestone rocks from near sea level up to about 1400 m. Short, thick, pencil-like stems carry tightly overlapping leaves and produce starry greenish flowers with a fringed lip, mostly in summer. Culture is warm‑intermediate, bright but filtered light, high humidity and good air movement with a slight drier period after growth matures.
