Miniature epiphytic Lepanthes from cool wet cloud forests of Costa Rica and Panama where it grows around 1300 to 2200 m elevation. It forms small mats on mossy branches and produces many tiny fringed yellow orange flowers through much of the year in very humid shady conditions.
