Masdevallia gutierrezii
This mini-miniature sized, Bolivian species is found as a hot to warm growing epiphyte in forests at the edge of foothills at elevations of 270 to 500 meters with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, 4 to 6.5 cm long, narrowly obovate, obtuse leaf that is gradually narrowed below into the subpetiolate base and has a slender, erect, single flowered, 2, 6 to 10 cm long inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract below the middle and a tubular floral bract holding the flower well above the leaves.
